Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes information handled when someone visits Clay County Released Inmates, uses a search feature, follows an outside link, or sends a message. The resource is privately operated and does not control the records held by the Clay County Sheriff, Kansas courts, KDOC, Kansas VINE, BOP, or ICE. Each outside office or provider has its own data practices. Using this resource means acknowledging the practices described below.

Information Collected

Information can arrive in three ways. Search terms entered into a sponsored search box are passed to the third-party search provider that operates it. Messages sent about the resource may include the sender’s name, email address, message text, and any information the sender chooses to provide. Servers and service providers may also collect technical data automatically, such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, and general interaction data.

Do not put sensitive personal facts, legal documents, or urgent custody information in a site message or third-party search box.

Cookies and Similar Tools

Cookies and related storage technologies may remember preferences, support basic operation, measure visits, limit fraud, and help analytics or advertising services understand use. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may affect some functions.

How Information Is Used

Collected information may be used to operate and secure the resource, answer messages, diagnose errors, understand traffic, improve organization, prevent misuse, and display or measure advertising. Search providers use submitted queries under their own policies. This resource does not turn a query into an official Clay County or Kansas record request.

When Data May Be Shared

Information may be received by vendors needed to run the resource, including hosting services, search partners, analytics providers, and advertising networks. It may also be disclosed to law enforcement or another authority when required by a valid legal order, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or system security. Personal information is not promised to remain confidential when a lawful disclosure duty applies.

Outside Links and Services

Links may lead to the Clay County Sheriff, District Court, KDOC, Kansas VINE, federal locators, or independent search services. Those destinations control their own collection, cookies, retention, security, and disclosure practices. Review the privacy terms at the destination before submitting a name, identifier, payment detail, or message.

Public Records Are Separate

Kansas public-record access is governed by the Kansas Open Records Act, principally K.S.A. 45-215 through 45-223. That framework concerns records maintained by public agencies. It does not make this private resource the custodian of Clay County Sheriff, court, or KDOC files, and this resource cannot process an agency request. Direct a request to the office that holds the record.

Data Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures may be used to protect information, but no internet transmission, database, or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Send only what is necessary. Use the originating government system for official or sensitive business.

Children’s Privacy

This resource is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. It does not knowingly seek personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request review.

Your Privacy Choices

Visitors can limit cookies through browser settings, avoid sponsored search tools, decline to send a message, and contact an outside provider about data submitted directly to it. A request to access, correct, or delete information held by this resource may be submitted through Get in Touch. A request may require identity verification and remains subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs.

Notice Updates

This notice may change as services, vendors, or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted. Continued use after posting indicates acceptance of the updated notice.

Privacy Questions

Questions about this notice can be sent through Get in Touch. Custody, release, court-file, and corrections-record questions must go to the responsible government office.
